Another winning day for the Milton Keynes Dance Centre.
Newport Pagnell carnival was as always a day filled with fun, excitement and of course rain!
This year the theme for the parade was sport. So we decided that we could only be one thing “Strictly Come Dancing”. Our float had it all; the theme music, glitter balls, judges, glamorous presenters and eager, bright eyed dancers looking resplendent in tiaras and top hats. The children behaved beautifully despite the rain and the crowds seemed to love our glitzy float. They gave generously to our hardworking collectors who walked alongside our float collecting for Willen Hospice. A special thank you has to go to the kind couple who lent one of them an umbrella.
And then it was off to the mud bath that had previously been Riverside Meadow to ‘do our thing’. We showcased some Rock and Roll, Lindy Hop, Contemporary and Freestyle. Showing determination and true grit dancers of all ages; from the youngest Lollipops to our adults put on a great display for the appreciative crowd.
A big thank you to all the Mum’s and Dad’s for all the hours you put in for the big Day and formaking us look so fabulous. It would not have been possible without you.
Well done to the children for behaving so well and keeping smiling in spite of the rain.. As one little girl said “I smiled so much my cheeks hurt.”
And to top it all off we won a great big trophy for the best float!!
A great day. As Brucie would say “Keep dancing.”
We raised a total of £135 on the day. Great work guys.
